Unified TaeKwon-Do International is a non-political international organization dedicated to providing quality education, training and resources to its members and affiliated schools. Membership in U.T.I. assures recognition and support through an international network of TaeKwon-Do Instructors and practitioners dedicated to their advancement and education. U.T.I. membership is open to all dedicated Martial Artists with a sincere desire to help themselves and others. Instructors world-wide retain complete control over their operations while receiving the resources, support and international recognition they deserve.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP:

To become a UTI associate member you must have:
  • TaeKwon-Do experience (minimum three months)
  • Sincere desire to advance in TaeKwon-Do training
  • Fee $30.00 ($15.00 annual renewal fee)

  • Fee $40.00 ($20.00 annual renewal fee)

  • Minimum 24 years of age
  • Fee $45.00 ($22.50 annual renewal fee, waived when active in UTI)

  • Black-Belt Certification, 6th or 7th Dan (copy submitted)
  • Martial Arts resume (detailed outline of Martial Arts experience)
  • Two passport-type photos (submitted)
  • Students unders your instruction (minimum 40)
  • Sincere desire to assist your students advance in their training and education
  • Minimum 30 years of age
  • Fee $50.00 ($25.00 annual renewal fee, waived when active in UTI)

     NATIONAL / STATE / PROVINCIAL REPRESENTATIVES:

    To become a UTI -REPRESENTATIVE you must have:
  • TaeKwon-Do experience (minimum ten years)
  • Experience as Instructor (minimum five years)
  • Sincere desire to advance in TaeKwon-Do training
  • Black-Belt Certification, (copy submitted)
  • Martial Arts Resume (detailed outline of Martial Arts experience)
  • Personal Resume (submitted)
  • Two passport-type photos (submitted)
  • Students unders your instruction (minimum 20)
  • Sincere desire to assist your students advance in their training and education
  • Minimum 24 years of age (national), minimum 20 years of age (state or provincial)

    Responsibilities:

  • Organization of National, State or Provincial Registry (in cooperation with UTI)
  • Distribution of UTI public-relations and resource materials
  • Must be available as reference for contacts in your area
  • Host a UTI President's Seminar (minimum of once every two years)
  • Host a local open or invitational seminar (minimum once per year)
  • Attend Annual Instructor Seminar at UTI headquarters (minimum once every three years)
  • Submit Report for UTI newsletter (minimum twice per year) ie: events, seminars, tournaments, promotions, news

    (Frequently Asked Questions)

    Q. Do I keep my rank when I join U.T.I.?
    A. Yes.
    (Black-Belts and Instructors must submit a copy of their present rank certificate)

    Q. Can I advance in rank with U.T.I.?
    A. Yes.
    Up to 5th Dan Black-Belt through the video/written examination process

    Q. Do I need to change my techniques, forms, sparring and training style?
    A. No.
    Color-Belts use either the ITF"Chun-Ji" or WTF"Taguek" forms and Black-Belts use either or both sets of forms. Sparring styles range between the traditional and world styles.

    Q. Can I keep my membership in other organizations and still join U.T.I.?
    A. Yes.
    UTI members are encouraged to draw quality resources from many styles and organizations.

    Q. Can I transfer my rank from another Martial Art into a TaeKwon-Do rank?
    A. No,
    although previous training and experience may accelerate your progress in TaeKwon-Do.

    Q. When should I join U.T.I.?
    A. If you are sincere
    about your desire to advance in your TaeKwon-Do education and training, and you are sincere about helping others, then NOW is the time. You have found a non-political international organization dedicated to the continuing development and evolution of TaeKwon-Do. If you are an Instructor who would like to assist and have a voice in the development and refinement of TaeKwon-Do, then NOW is the time to join. If you are tired of organizations that demand a lot, offer little and have many strings and restrictions, then NOW is the time to join U.T.I.

        Examinations are often included in seminar and special events but are not included in the seminar fee, however, there is a 50% reduction on examination fees for "one" exam only conducted during each seminar event. Further examinations are at the full fee.
